Sorry kiddo – it’s also the longest night

The first day of Winter. Hold on! Only three months and Spring will back.

Early to bed and late to rise means Christmas gets here faster.

Alright, days will start to have more daylight after today

With the Winter Solstice here, that means the daylight savings time change will be here in March….

Good ole’ Wilberforce Thornapple, his minuscule mind thinks that the minuscule amount of time difference will actually matter.

Tis why the days just before Christmas seem the longest as well.

If this is the shortest day of the year, then hereafter, days will be getting longer. This means, my dear Wilber, Xmas will be further away, not closer.

What’s the tallest day of the year?

By that reasoning, the end of Christmas break will also come sooner.

Not really, Wilberforce. Night fills in for the daytime, though for a limited time only. Call the increasing daylight an early Christmas gift.

You can always have a summer home on Alaska’s north coast, Wilberforce.
