Powder snow was rare where I grew up. I remember one morning we had deep powder and I ran out with my Flexible Flyer sled, threw it down at the top of the hill and was dismayed to see it just sink into the snow. There was no way to get the runners up on the snow, or to slide down the hill at all. I was so confused.

Maybe you should try snowboarding Tank. Wider board maybe you won’t sink in the snow as bad.

Longer skis?

You have to keep your weight back, forget about edges, and steer with the tips of your skis; which you won’t see on a good powder day.
