It is a sad sight to be sure, phone your local zoo and see if they want them. Elephants love them for one……….
Here, they collect them and stake the trees down on the beach to help build and stabilize dunes.

I would suggest a bonfire and the roasting of marshmallows; with adult supervision, of course. A little Cul de Sac gathering.
I’ve taken my neighbor’s trees they put out for discarding and put them in my front yard for the birds to hide in. When all the needles and small branches come off, I cut the stem of the tree up and give it to a friend who has a fireplace.
