Seems harsh – she wasn’t going THAT fast!

I got pulled over one time for doing 80 mph in a 10 mph zone. I was in a shopping center parking lot, back in the days when they were closed on Sundays. There was nobody in that huge lot but me (and the policeman, as it turned out). I was adjusting the 4 side draft carbs on an old (back then, fairly new) Mercedes roadster then testing the adjustment by zipping back and forth across the lot. Luckily, the cop was a car guy, and we talked for 20 or so minutes, and no ticket!

I have a solution, don’t speed! Yeah, you can boo me now!!

A long, LONG time ago I was stopped for speeding on my motorcycle. The fine was only $20 and as he left he mentioned that my inspection sticker was expired but didn’t ticket me on that.

That was my thought. No ticket on a private parking lot, & you had a logical reason for what you were doing – not like spinning donuts in the snow on a winter’s day.
