Carol, try radio dramas. They’re way better than audio books, and you can find them for free on archive(dot)org. And you’ll find Nero Wolfe, Sam Spade, Nick Carter, Ellery Queen, Paul Temple, Johnny Dollar, Mr. & Mrs. North, The Fat Man, The Thin Man and so many more detective crime stories produced in the 40s and 50s. Great entertainment
