Once I asked our sales guy how he captured some big customer. He said he had several quotes at different prices in different pockets of his suit. He said he looked sad on bidding day and told the customer he was embarrassed by his quote and was thinking of not going to try. He asked how they other quotes went. The customer quoted the lowest bid. Our sales guy feigned a big surprised look and pulled out a quote from his suit at just under the lowest bid.
