Looking at the past the right wing didn’t like Boehner and didn’t like Ryan. The demand for “No compromise” is tripping up sections of the party in terms of working with other sections of the party.
What an odd situation. Repubs are usually the organized party. It’s Dems that are broken up. It took a master planner, master politician like Nancy Pelosi to get herself to the speakers position. It seems McCarthy isn’t a master, yet. \\
Now, there’s even talk of pulling some of the Dems over to vote for the Repub speaker. Now, that’s odd.
McCarthy allies to call for House to adjourn – Fox News reporter suggests ‘Trump’s backing failed to move the meter’
Allies of Majority GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy are expected to call for the House to adjourn when it reconvenes Wednesday at noon, a clear sign that the California Republican still does not have enough votes to become Speaker. McCarthy lost all three votes on Tuesday, and according to a Fox News reporter the expected move to adjourn is a bad sign for his hopes of grabbing the gavel.
We’ve seen this before in both parties. Most recently was when Boehner couldn’t get a full majority. When he finally realized he was never going to win, he stepped aside and threw his full support behind Ryan who won the Speaker handily.
Had a bumper sticker on my truck back in the day that went “Teabaggers gave America a Boehner”. The Koch financed Tea Party has morphed into the Freedom Caucus but the goal is the same, cripple the regulatory state and shovel all the money to the rich.
It’s an epic disaster for the House Republicans as Rep. Kevin McCarthy loses a 6th vote for Speaker of the House. Fox News anchors are now panning the GOP for this debacle and hitting them hard. The speaker fight now ensnaring Trump with many House Republicans ignoring his call to “vote for Kevin” with one openly mocking him as “sad!” Political strategist Chai Komanduri joins MSNBC’s Ari Melber on “The Beat” saying “I think Fox has an agenda here and it’s a Ron DeSantis agenda.”
Hannity, who has been critical of efforts of rebellious House Republicans to oust leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), asked Boebert why McCarthy should take her advice and drop out of the race to be House Speaker when he has 200 votes behind him, while Boebert and her rebels only count 20.
“Isn’t it time for you to pack it in?” Hannity asked her.
“Sean, I understand the frustration, I promise you,” Boebert replied.
“I’m not frustrated,” replied a frustrated Hannity. “You’re not answering my question.”
Boebert then claimed that many of the Republicans voting for McCarthy were secretly cheering the rebellious Republicans on and were waiting for McCarthy to drop out of the race before officially switching their loyalties.
“Congresswoman, I’m frustrated by you not answering a direct question,” Hannity said. “You said to President Trump that you need to tell Kevin McCarthy that you don’t have the votes…”
At this point, Boebert started talking over the Fox News host, which prompted him to shout out, “Hold it, can I finish?”
He then asked Boebert again why McCarthy should drop out when he already has 200 votes.
“Well, Sean, he needs 218 and he does not have 218,” she shot back.

McCarthy seems to be quite inept. Seems like they’d WANT someone like them in charge…

The 3 (and counting) votes of non-confidence for McCarthy demonstrates he is just not incompetent enough for the Republican Party.

Wrong critter, Mr. Bok. You should have drawn a big rhinoceros in front of the smaller elephants. And maybe another one looking on, named McConnell.

I recall people lining up to collect Elephant dung for fertilizer when the Circus was in town in St. Petersburg Florida.
With THIS BUNCH in the House, there will be TONS of Elephant poo to spread around, after they are finished flinging it at each other.

McCarthy is a total worm, but can you imagine having Biggs or – God forbid – Jordan anywhere in the line for the Presidency?
