January and February are the gardener’s dream time. Order catalogues to dream of a bed of roses here, an arbor, a water feature, and/or a secret garden to relax in this summer. Long germination time seeds are ordered, along with potting soil, and all of the supplies needed. Oh, how beautiful it will be.

She ought to have married Ed Crankshaft. He’s also into all that gardening stuff.

Pretty much.

I hate winter because I have to listen to my wife describe in great detail what she’s planning to plant to which I say something like, “Just plant me some of those zinnias like you did last year.” Hint: zinnias are so easy to grow even a caveman or cavewoman could do it.

I LOVE winter because it’s not summer.

“Well”, he said heatedly.

That’s one way to deal with winter!

I began getting seed catalogs in the mail already. Burpee’s is really nice.

It’s January. I’ve already brought in more than one box of seeds for my neighbors. I am very grateful for their generously sharing their produce.

I guess you have to be a gardener to get this.
