Shouldn’t the illustrations be the other way around, to match Dinkleberg’s comments?

Oh, and explain to me again why Baituk went to the trouble of “retiring” the other strip?

Of course he still feels like a high school band director. Even after he retired, he still spent hours every day hanging out at the high school band room. And changing comic strips isn’t going to stop him, either. Batiuk just just too much invested in this obnoxious character to drop him.

“Hey, you got your Funky Winkerbean in my Crankshaft!” / “Hey, you got your Crankshaft in my Funky Winkerbean!”

Tooting his own horn, or tuba.

Maybe they should change the name of this strip to Funkyshaft. Or Crankerbean.

I retired about 10 years ago, but I’m still an OMEA member, and still judge marching band events here in Ohio.

He says that like it’s something special.

So now this strip has become Funky with a Crankshaft character in frame.

Can we please get back to Crankshaft?

Isn’t it about time we see the title character running over another mailbox?
