Alice, you’re in a 2-3 panel, stationary comic which allows you to look great jumping rope. Besides, the readers are distracted by the cute poetry. Just try to avoid animated features.
Alice’ feet never touch the ground in the first panel – made me wonder about Jump Rope in Space – I imagine that the spinning rope would cause centrifugal force causing the jumper to rotate
Petey puts his finger on the real problem! My Hero! It becomes so obvious: “poetry and sports don’t mix” (the exception that proves the rule was Muhammad Ali)….

Anything other than sitting at a desk is dangerous to Petey.

This might have been her at her least dangerous.

Of course, poetry and sports can be lots of fun, which Petey is allergic to.

Doing sports and poetry never hurt Muhammad Ali. The other guy, though…

The whole poem…
March comes in on clumsy feet.
Kicks the trashcans down the street.
Spills some garbage on the lawn.
Blows the rest to Hellandgone.
Knocks the branches off the trees.
Gives the power lines a squeeze.
Then March leaves & as it goes
the sun comes out. Then it snows.

Definitely a more magniloquent erudition than “In like a Lion out like a Lamb” …

I don’t know if poetry in comics is considered a dangerous sport, but I am forever grateful that Richard gave us so much comic poetry.
