Sam’s gun stock is facing forward. Think he draws with his left hand, across his body? Slower draw, and there is a chance his gun will strike him, if he is rushed and pulls up with the trigger finger.
I have treated a couple of marines, with what I assume is a gun swipe injury. (Shot mid thigh, bullet vector down). I assumed in one case it may have been self-inflicted but did not cite that in my medical report. Not my place, and I wasn’t there when he had to draw his pistol.
I did find out later, he told the brass he may have done it to himself, he had drawn a lot of fire, and his rifle was out. He drew his pistol in a high hostile environment. The review was quick, and he earned his purple heart. The CO and squad lead asked me why I did not cite the nature of his wound. I told them, I would be drawing a conclusion without evidence, and he had a slug of hostiles shooting at him. They smiled and the CO said, “at the end of the day, if he weren’t in the corp, he would be home with his family and snug in a bed. Here, he defended his brothers, and bought enough time for reinforements to arrive-so I’m like you, I don’t care who fired the shot..it wouldn’t have happened if he wasn’t doing the job!”
I really liked that guy, he was straight and true, and you could tell he loved the corp.

One bullet and it’s over. A taser, however, stays in a person’s skin and the fun lasts as long as the charge holds…

And that’s the reason why you’re not allowed to have fire weapons.

Sedine seems to have a great deal of enthusiasm for the job. I’m not sure I would trust her with a taser, much less a gun.
