Our Rec Center has a Walk of Russian Poets. Provided by the Russian Embassy. A few of the markers are destroyed (weather related), but the rest I recognize. Most are pre-Soviet era.
i’ve been chipping away at ulysses for years now, reading a chapter or two and then putting it down again. it’s great for when you’re in the mood for something really really mind-numbingly boring. gravity’s rainbow is a good substitute if you don’t have a copy of ulysses handy…
I read this cartoon in John Atkinson’s web page and was encouraged to read Ulysses after ignoring it for decades. It took me a little over a month to read to the last page. I can’t admit I understood all of it though but am surprised how much I liked the parts that are easy to understand.

Does it count if I’ve read Dubliners? That’s a really good short story collection.
