I was smart enough not to pop off with comments like that where I could be heard by my mom or my dad. It was a choices and consequences decision. I could pop off and take whatever punishment was coming, or I could keep my mouth shut and not have to clean out the grease trap, shovel out the barn and the chicken coop. I might have had to do those things anyway, but I didn’t have to do them all in the same day.

I don’t think I’ve ever put my socks on a doorknob. They’re on my feet, in the laundry, or in the sock drawer.

Sock on the door knob meant, “Do not enter, ‘entertaining’ someone.”

Wow….a comment like that in my house would’ve earned me entry into the Guinness book of world records: youngest human with a full set of dentures!
