I don’t get why the team let him go just because Marcus retired. Was Delray so incompetent that the only reason they let him have the job was because of Marcus? His job wasn’t tied to Marcus’ presence.

Delray and Marcus were a package deal.

I would think a bigger objection would be that Delray would have to move to Hawaii or at least spend half the year there to be with the team.
