From the look of those trays, neither of these moms will get out of bed and walk into a kitchen which, as in so many Mother’s Day cartoons, is a disaster area after the kids (or spouse) have gotten through with it. That’s the best Mother’s Day present of all!
Why breakfast in bed? Never had same, never saw anyone actually have same. It is actually rather disgusting if one thinks about what can fall into the bed.
Food is eaten in the kitchen – only – with the exception of holiday meals in the dining room. This was the rule in my parents’ house growing up and also in husband’s parents’ house (as well grandparents and aunt/uncle houses) – and it is in ours also.
In high school I tore my ankle and the house was multiple floors – I ate every meal at the table despite needing to hop there – or I would not eat.

There are vegan donuts out there. You just have to look really hard for them. Whole Foods usually has some vegan bakery treats.
