I hear leaving a cash tip is best, at least it has a better chance of getting to the intended recipient. If the muffin cost $5.00, 18% would be about $1.00. I agree with Mamet, that’s a lot of money for the service received.

I leave it minimum for delivery services, then hand cash to the driver. With my neighborhood’s traffic, they deserve every cent!

If a restaurant or delivery, I tip well. For a donut and coffee, forget it!!

I’m old, judge me if you like but everything does not require a tip and I have doubts about how those automated tips are divided.

In France, tips are not mandatory, it’s already included in the retail price (with the VAT too). But at a Caffé or a restaurant, it’s common to let a tip.

Tipping. Subsidizing the wage paid by the service sector employer…if he/she is actually underpaid or just feels underpaid through social obligation. There’s no tipping in my manufacturing job, often a performance review, and doing our job, quickly and well, to the best of our abilities is the core of the work. Tipping strikes me as the modern culture of entitlement.

Somehow I don’t quite get this comic. Guess I haven’t been anywhere where tips are forced like this.
