The Desantis draconian Dont say gay bill parents can sue teachers if they feel that their kids were taught anything about gay lifestyles or differences between trans and gay people.
One of my cousins was a math major. She interned one summer in an insurance company in the actuarial department. When she graduated she took the actuarial exam and went to work making more than twice as much as others who went into teaching. Then she earned her master’s degree and again got another raise. With sound investments she bought and paid off her house before 35 in Los Angeles while teachers in the area with the same level of education and time in job are living with roommates or in studio apartments and have to commute from Bakersfield because of LA housing costs. It’s not a labor shortage, it’s a wage shortage.
I got a degree to teach. After 6 months of student teaching, in a system with no discipline and no order in classrooms I opted for law enforcement instead. Been retired for years – and today I wouldn’t consider either profession.

It’s good to see that he has complete control of the classroom. Or at least his desk.

He’s too busy “grooming” students and turning them “woke” to answer.

Not the only reason for teacher shortages: low pay, disrespect, and more paperwork than teaching. I admire those dedicated teachers who stick with it.
