I know there are people who swear by it but I honestly don’t see how it would taste differently if you started with a marine sponge plant and maybe threw in some extra lard. :)
If you can’t find someone who makes it fresh, try the canned version that’s sold at Mexican supermarkets. It’s okay, but lacks the fire and consistency.

I think it’s all the blood, sweat and tears that go into preparing it that give menudo the real flavor.
