Dachshunds are bred to follow badger into their set. That’s the reason, why they have short legs. And since they have to make their decisions alone in the dark, they are quite strong-willed.Btw.: “Dachs” is the german word for “badger”

Taking care of two dachshunds, I know they get around very well with those little short legs.

An aside from today’s comic, I recently saw an article where someone stole the catalytic converter off the weiner mobile.

I saw the Pepperidge Farm Goldfish Mobile when I was driving south on I-81 probably twenty some years ago. The more recent version has sunglasses.

My 7 yr old dachshund and i walk 4-6 miles a day. He loves taking our walks. One trail we take has the backyards of houses along the trail butted up against it. It use to be a railroad track. Max knows every yard where dogs usually will be out in as we are walking and will start barking to let them know he is near. When we get there the barking session starts and they converse until Max decides he wants to head to the next yard. There is a privacy fence that blocks him from seeing the dogs. One family cut out a square in the wooden planks and put a screen in that is framed in for his dogs to look out.

Back in the day, both Dad and his older brother worked at Oscar Meyer in Chicago. I remember as a kid meeting “Little Oscar” and seeing the old Weiner Mobile there….
