Australian Rod Laver aka ‘The Rocket’ was one of the professional players who popularized televised tennis. He was a southpaw and to attest to the size and strength of his powerful left arm, at the US Open in 1968, New York Times sportswriter Dave Anderson measured his forearms and revealed that his left was an inch and a half bigger around than his right.
