Didn’t used to be. But the Thomas and the last three are definitely weak in that way. Or worse.

SCOTUS in name only. The reality is you have a bunch of bought and paid for judges who dare to rule over people when they should themselves be in the dock.

SCOTUS: Checks and balances?

We don’ need no checks and balances!

Just give us the checks and we’ll increase our balances.

Republicans have low to no moral standards

How they even get to even judgeship is questionable

Alito is gravely offended that the Court is being criticized for being partisan.

He plans to give a speech with more details when he appears at the next Republican convention.

Maybe this time, he will take Thomas along, since Scalia is gone.

It’s now the SCOTRP.

so we’re discovering, probably not for the first time

THAT link broke long ago, the Dred Scott Decision comes to mind.

That shipped sailed a long time ago.

Other weak links include acidic partisanship, ideology above law, arrogant contempt for human beings especially female, poor, and minority, all exacerbated by two conservative first judges placed in the court by political finagling.

Out of the justice system, this is the part that should always be held to a higher standard. Not only by the Government and it’s citizens, but by the Justice’s themselves.

The Supreme Court is one of those places where ‘everyone does it’, or I didn’t know better’ just shouldn’t fly.

I would add another weak link: the allegiance to political and religious ideologies shared by a minority of USA citizens rather than allegiance to the Constitution
