Don’t neglect to consider shingles. The severity can vary greatly. It put Senator Feinstein in the hospital for a couple of months. A former neighbor of mine wasn’t hospitalized, but suffered from it for over a year.
My own case was exceptional. It was relatively mild and short-lived. BUT… it appeared suddenly over the course of about 20 minutes, and since I live 10 minutes walk from my doctor, I was on medication (from the pharmacy) within an hour of it appearing.
Believe the horror stories and beware! I understand there’s now a vaccine for shingles. Get it.
