Yeah, I wish I could afford to buy a factory reconditioned ‘57 Buick. The one I used to drive got the same mileage w/ a V8 that my current vehicle gets w/ a V6. Neither as good as a lot of the new cars, but the Buick was MUCH more comfortable to drive and had room for 6 people who didn’t have to be such GOOD friends.
I don’t own a car anymore, but the last three cars I’ve owned have been very dependable with decent gas mileage. The norm is wrong. The engineering of today’s cars is amazing. You can buy a decent new car for under $30,000. Houses in my area go for $300.000 and up.
When I was driving a truck in the oil field, I was following a truck who lost his front trailer wheels, and they bounced over the fence and disappeared into the sunset. They were still rolling when I passed them.
