Fred, you are almost always the center of attention. After all, the strip is called Fred Basset after all. On occasion you could share like when Jock is doing his tricks. It would still be your strip.

Fred, is “The” your middle name? You certainly are a fine Basset!

Glad to see you being back to your normal self after the little down mood last week. It seems like your time out then worked wonders :-D

Appropriate strip to report the alleged end of the Fred Basset comic strip later this year. On the amazon.co.uk site for the 2024 collection coming out in Sept. in the UK there is this description: “Celebrate 60 years of Fred Basset! Britain’s favourite basset hound returns for the final time in this collection of witty cartoon strips from the Daily Mail. Fred is retiring – but not without returning one final time to take a bow.” Nothing about its availability in the U.S. and elsewhere yet. Fred, you will always be the center of attention. Arran Graham and artist Michael Martin were doing a good job carrying on Arran’s late father, Alex’s strip.

Some dogs just have that special something; I know my sweet Conan certainly did. People gathered around him everywhere we ever went. If we happened to stop by the local pet supply store when the shelter was there with adoptable dogs, there were always at least a few who asked if he was available. Nope – he’s taken!
