When my folks downsized to a 2 bedroom condo after all three kids were out and on our own, the second bedroom with the twin beds was always referred to as the “girls’ room” even though neither one of us had ever lived in it. Our brother joked that the hide-a-bed couch must be the “boy’s room”.
