It would have been nice to see the faux photos of Abuelito and the great-great grandfather (sorry I don’t speak Spanish, so I don’t know what the Spanish is for G-G-grandfather).
Took a break this year, but for the last several I changed my Facebook profile picture for Mothers’ and Fathers’ day to, in successive years, my parents, each set of grandparents, and the six great grandparents I have pictures of (and only happened to have my Farfarmor’s – father’s father’s mother in Swedish and the other Scandinavian languages – because the author of a book on the Swedish community in an Illinois town where they once lived found me through Ancestry.com and asked about her, so I asked other cousins). Still missing pix of my Farfarfar and Mormormor. Of the eight, I only got to meet my Mormorfar.
I wonder how many kids have dads that live with and care for them today? And have photos of family going back to bisabuelos! I’m sure we need more dads like that.
