Sunshine this morning becoming overcast by the end of the day. We started out around 35 degrees and it will top out at 69 degrees.
Congratulations to Picarajustina, she nailed it. (^.^) Indeed Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis” (1927) the first motion picture to depict the use of two way visual communication. Even television didn’t exist back then.
I got my monthly B 12 shot this morning and did my running around while I was out and about.
Mark, are you going to leave us in the dark about the first cinematic use of two-way video communication? Inquiring minds want to know…
Mother’s Day turned out to be very nice. A gift and recognition for all the mothers at church, then a nice day with Michael and Mike and dinner at Mike’s place. He made a chicken stir-fry that was absolutely delicious.
He also hooked us up with a new streaming service called “Pureflix” that has movies and TV shows without profanity, jumping into bed with everyone in sight or “woke” culture. Just looking at some of the titles of available shows and movies made us drool. Everything from Gene Autry movies to “The Real McCoys”.
I’m off to walk another building with the painters this morning and then a meeting with the AC techs this afternoon. And in between is laundry.
The forecast for today is 97 which makes me glad that we’re doing the walk-around so early.
Sorry for being absent this last week. Starting on June 4th our Sunday morning routine at church is changing. The traditional service is being moved to 8:30 am and the contemporary will be at 11:00 am. I have gotten very lax with my retiree routine and have discovered that it is hard for me to get out of the house by 8 am. So I am trying to be mindful of my time usage. I have discovered that just changing it on Sunday will not work so I am struggling to change it daily to the Sunday schedule. Exhausting! A couple of times I have crawled into bed just to remember things I have forgotten to do because of the change. I will get it done, but it is a lot harder to change even simple things as I grow older.
Last week brought a lot of rain and cooler temperatures and it looks like it will be Wednesday before the sun comes out again. Our high today was 73 and the next rainfall will start soon. Ah spring.
Yesterday we had a lovely service and some great song selections. We were unable to get together as a family because of schedule conflicts. My oldest daughter was working/helping out at church, and my youngest daughter and grandson were at work. So we will combine with family dinner on Tuesday.
Rita, my thoughts and prayers are with Jack. Praying that the surgery goes well.
