My dog does something similar when she wants to take me for a walk.

Gizmo, my first cat (and the inspiration for Floof and Stella!) once got a running start on the bed, and leaped at -and hit-my face broadside at about 3 A.M. Seven pounds of cat makes an impression. She was telling me how much she loved me..and love sometimes hurts!

That is what my Katie does and/or slaps me in the face.

Tigger does this to me while watching TV.

In mornings he bops me on the nose, or jumps on my head board or goes behind the TV and rattles the cords….☺️☺️☺️☺️

I don’t rise & shine; I just sort of ooze out of bed & attempt to glow feebly…

My Simon doesn’t do this with a smile on his cat face. He does it with the intent of a fire siren, asking (demanding?) breakfast.

My current cat and dog are more passive aggressive – the cat tends to bump things and bang into stuff. That way, he makes enough noise to be sure his people are UP, but without laying a paw on us or coming within reach. The dog is willing to sleep until she NEEDS to go out – at that point, she starts to whine softly.
