There’ll be blue birds over, the white cliffs of Dover.

    It’s D-day Vagabonds

My avatar is the shoulder patch of the First Division like the one on my dear old dad’s shoulder in 1944.

Smokey morning here, there are wild fires burning in Quebec now as well as Nova Scotia. A temperature of 44 was seen by my bleary eyes this morning. It’s fair this morning then getting cloudy as the afternoon comes, with light rain.

As for my dad’s participation in the invasion of Normandy, he was in the artillery, S and A battery. In his words “I was stuck on a Rhino Barge in the the channel”. So he got on shore on day two, and became one of those picking up bodies. He went from there to Czechoslovakia where he was asked “How would you like to go home?” Stupid question.

May you have a blessed day Vagabonds and may God be your constant companion.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

It’s another beautiful sunshiny morning here and I’m off to prayer group in a few minutes. I have a few errands planned after that, in places I don’t usually go, like the mall to get my watch repaired and the hardware store for some keys.

Not much to report around here. Yesterday was a quiet day. I finally finished my binge watching of ER with the last 5 episodes. I had a lot of fun with the entire run of the show checking out the guest stars. They had everyone from Rosemary Clooney to Susan Sarandon and Ernest Borgnine to Hal Holbrook at one time or another, some of them in arcs that lasted several episodes. That last season, they had some of the original stars come back for short appearances, even George Clooney who was already a superstar by that time.

Now all I have to do is figure out what other show I might want to binge on.

We got up to 102 yesterday on the patio. It’s only the second triple digit day this year so far and that’s unusual. (Gasp! Global Cooling???) Today’s forecast is for 91 but it’s already 85 at 9AM, so it will probably go higher.

    Everyone have a blessed day.
