I use to fly often on business before I retired. I loved doing the crossword puzzle found in the airline magazine; except I would insert random words that fit in the spaces, regardless of what the clue actually was. Of course I usually couldn’t finish the crossword before my flight ended, so I would return the magazine to the magazine pocket for the next passenger to attempt to finish it……
My mother could never finish a crossword puzzle. I could never start one. So, she would start one and leave itllying around on a side table. I’d pick it up and finish it.
Two of us used to do the same crossword to determine which of one was faster. One day I copied the words onto a same sized crossword blank. He never forgave me.
sixty years ago, when we were newlyweds, we used to get the Sunday New York Times and do the crossword puzzle. The bed would be covered with reference books! It usually took us most of the week to finish it. It was a wicked puzzle!
