Someone probably also told him that the thick coat of a husky helps keep them cool in the summer as well as warm in the winter. Not sure how that’s supposed to work though.
Huskies have a natural air conditioner in their fur, it’s actually their insulation layer. This layer of fur traps air against the skin to keep your pup heat free during the summer and warm during the winter. But when it’s really hot cool them down as much as you can. Shower them regularly with cold water but best of all get a kiddies’ paddling pool and fill with water and ice. Put ice in their drinking water too. They will love it. In fact you could do this for any dog. And remember to check how hot the road and pathways (sidewalks) are . Put your hand on them. If it’s too hot for you, then it’s too hot for your dog, so keep him home in the shade with plenty of water. Also keep checking just how hot they are by touching the part of ear next to their head. If it’s hot do what you can to bring down their temperature.
My dog’s back is black. I have to be careful with her in the hot sun as she absorbs the heat quickly. My last two beagles had more white and brown fur on them and they loved the heat. This one wants to, but I have to protect her from herself on this topic. We take our long walks at dawn and dusk. I do not understand why some hunters are breeding their beagles to be all black. They are outside all day chasing rabbits and they don’t even have the white tip of their tails any more so the hunters can see where they are. Mine is mostly black, as shown in my avatar, but one of her granddaughters is almost entirely black.

Don’t forget to remember how hot the pavement gets in the summer sun. Watch where/how they walk.
