I might imagine they get paid from all the ads that show up in places.

I feel compelled to read them if only to provide an outlet for the cartoon artist.

The ones my paper carries I read in print, but I come here for the rest.

I pay for my online comics; I find it a better experiance.

I pay for the Sunday paper (Detroit Free Press) so I can have the comics on paper. Way better. Just like a book is always better than the movie.

I’d read the comics in a paper, but then I’d have to read the rest of the paper.

I pay for 2 online subscriptions just for comics. I pay for a local paper subscription for my local news and skip the comics because I’ve already read them.

The cartoonists make money, but not much.

Well, the cartoonist of this strip is gonna get even with him.

Do as web cartoonists do: Beg. Offer bonus art to patrons. Maybe merchandise if you get enough of a following.

Hope this isn’t a foreshadowing of doom…
