Then that couldn’t be a quote, Eddie said it and he isn’t famous.

Don’t know what the boys are up to with the water and the wagon, but red shirt is getting the worst of it.

Technically, “quotation” is the noun and “quote” is the verb… or at least, it used to be. I imagine through common usage, either way is now considered fine
