Rescued a cat whose plastic flea collar had been on so long that it was cutting into the flesh. The vet said he was about two years old, it obviously had been on for a long time and would not make it through the winter had he not been rescued. BTW He lived to be 19 years old.Cat owners – make sure your collars are also snap away. A neighbor’s cat got hung on a fence and when found, he wa dead.

Surprised the vet didn’t catch that and adjust!

Thank you for a good message Lennie There should be required pet care classes for every pet care giver.

There was an incident here where the collar actually was grown over by the skin. Like a tree will grow around an object. Too much ignorance and neglect.

I might need to do that on my belt, too.

I had to send my (at least) 17 yr old kitty, Fluff Bucket, over the rainbow bridge yesterday. He showed up as a stray in 2007… This has been one sucky weekend. I still have others here to love on, but I have a Fluff-sized hole in my heart…
