Ugh, the call taker should always ask the location first! Always get location then situation. (And I’m shocked some places haven’t consolidated and still have fire/PD specific call takers).
But you’d be surprised on how many people don’t evacuate, or refuse to evacuate or go back in because they think they can put it out. Don’t. Evacuate and follow directions so you don’t put yourself or responders in harm’s way.
