The best minds are usually cleaning up the messes made by the people who have nothing better to do.

The problem is, there are more people running the world than there are best minds to fix their messes.

It is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. – Douglas Adams

Actually, Verne, it’s even scarier than that. But that’s a story for another time. (Sneak peek: Story about South Africa whose gov’t is in such collapse that private companies have taken over health care provision, education, infrastructure and security just to be able to do business.)

It concerns me that most of the people running things were C students at best

No, anybody wanting to run for office has to determine whether they want the exposure/scrutiny from the media and social networks of their personal lives . So we are doomed by having selections at voting booth of people too stupid to care about that and others well being , egotists & BS artists looking for a platform to get attention , people who look at politics as a means to have control over others , some who believe that lobbyists will make them rich (after watching most politicians rake in bucks one way or another), people who got tired of being internet nobodies , etc etc etc………….meaning we get selections of wrong people for all the wrong reasons …so what can possibly go positive direction ( yes, I’m avoiding the word “right” ) .
