I feel that freed from all the other pressures, we’d have time to return them on time (assuming your library still charges them at all, which many don’t).
Those may all be terrible kinds of people, but I would prefer that they all become kind and caring people rather than dying. Of course, I realize that my scenario would not be science fiction but a total fantasy.
It’s what the right fears most, no one afraid and at odds with each other, and no one to massively profit from the fear/hate complex, and keep all their ill-gotten gains for themselves or their shareholders. They should all be pumped with clotting agents and slowly fed feet first into a wood chipper!

All the late fees in the world still wouldn’t amount to the number of bankruptcies declared by Kantaloupe Kommandant.

That’s very clever, and cute…(Check out the three “Librarian” films, series not so good)

Our library quit taking late fees, a couple of years ago. They get more books returned that way.

When was the last time you were actually in a library? Or borrowed a book on line?
