    Water is a natural substance and does not go bad, however the plastic water bottle will degrade over time and begin to leach chemicals into the water, hence the expiration date…

    Actually, a lot of water is constantly being broken down by plants. (H20 + CO2 + sunlight = O2 + [Carbohydrates]) And a lot of water is being constantly remade by animals and combustion processes. ([Carbs] + O2 = H2O + CO2 + energy) Given the amount of oil pumped out of the ground and burned, I’d say there is a lot more water today than 100 years ago.
