In the 1950s my Grandmother and her friend used to make quilts in the “parlor” I remember them setting up some sort of rack, and they made good use of old rags!
Why would Opal WANT Earl to go to the quilter’s convention with her? As much as theses two spar, you’d think they’d both relish a couple of days apart.
To make Earls life much more enjoyable, he should take the time to write down stupid jokes about quilting, knitting, etc. He should practice them at home taking note to make the most pathetic laughing sounds followed by a big, toothy grin. It will guarantee his permanent banishment from said hobby establishments.

They had a quilting exhibit at the local museum and the quilts were amazing. My wife and I have taken up quilting because of it. It’s a great hobby.

If you have to use “sad puppy eyes” to get out of something you hate to do, you’re in real trouble.

My rabid quilter sister in law’s going to love this. She also made Covid masks, but my clinic and hospital didn’t like their “R-1” rating.
