Hmmm! I seem to remember the Dears very upset with you because you wandered in after a night out visiting with friends. Now you understand their worry about you. You didn’t at the time. Love does that. Makes you worry. They love you. You love them.
It’s fun seeing the early, grumpier Fred by creator Alex Graham. When he died in the 1990s his daughter, Arran, and her husband, Alistair Keith, took over the writing and softened Fred a little. Oh, I just received the new collection, “Fred Basset Yearbook 2024: Celebrating 60 Years of Fred Basset.”
Chinook (Avatar) would be all excited to see me, the few times that I had to leave him home ………… then he’d go sit with his back to me and ignore me for 20-30 minutes …….. then he’d come to me and look at me until I gave him a treat …… then things would be back to normal …… How I “MISS” that ….. great memories, just the same …….. :)

I understand how Fred feels. Dogs really do have a sense of time. My dog does, especially when it’s close to her eating time.

The stress of the evening has made ol’ Fred a little cranky.

I had a Husky years ago who would “yell” at me when I came home after being away for hours. If you’ve ever heard Huskys “talk” you know what I mean.
