Reminds me of Disney’s Motor Mania, a Goofy cartoon from 1950. It depicts the Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde transformation that takes place when people get behind the wheel of an automobile. It’s almost three quarters of a century old, yet it still could essentially be a present-day documentary.
I remember reading a short story about an eternal traffic jam, way back in Junior or Senior High. Two jerks are trying to go through a tunnel to get to New Jersey (?) where one of them could get a drug fix. They apparently tried to dodge a station wagon with a family inside, and suddenly wound up next to that car in a traffic jam that never moved. The implication was that the jam was composed of all the cars and passengers who had died at that tunnel entrance. Sorry I can’t recall the title or author.
