I don’t see a ‘forked tongue’ in panel 3.

Saw a photo in the news today of a heron that was trying to eat a snake but the snake managed to wrap itself around the heron’s beak and neck. No idea who won, though.

Drop him on the fat broad from 30 feet, or so.

One good grab deserves another…

Between the bat and the bird, snake just can’t win.

I wonder if this is the back story behind the Mexican national symbol, The eagle holding a snake on a cactus on a rock on an island.

I’d bet on the snake.

Many years ago, my father found a dead grass snake in our backyard. He picked it up with a stick and tried to fling it over the fence into the woods. His aim was off and it landed in the neighbor’s pool. A couple of days later, Bob mentioned that he had found the snake. Dad asked him how it could have gotten into the aboveground pool. Bob’s theory was that it had fallen from a bird flying overhead. Dad said nothing then, but Bob was the Las person in the neighborhood to learn the truth.

And if the bird lands on a cactus with the snake in his beak, that’s where the Aztec are suppose to build their city.
