Actually, whenever my husband makes his “famous” spaghetti, both of our daughters’ teachers get a serving. Before he left, we used to send the Principal a serving as well. Some kids bring apples…ours bring spaghetti!

Hope you don’t mind, but I saved this to my recipe file. I have my own recipe, but it’s kind of throw this in throw that in, I don’t think I EVER make the same sauce twice. The basics are:

Italian sausage or 93% lean ground beef (seasoned with Italian seasonings) depends on if I’m on a diet or not LOL

    Canned diced tomatoes

Either fresh or dehydrated onionOnion & garlic powder

    basil

    oregano

    salt & pepper

Italian seasoning (sometimes instead of basil & oregano sometimes with)

    Sometimes button mushrooms

My Italian mother in law used to put a pork chop or two or some other meat in hers along with the sausage, I’ve never done that.

@coolhand000This has nothing to do with federal school lunch policies. It’s local politicians making choices about meals brought from home, and written during a previous administration. No reason to bring your politics into it.
