Of course you can, Patty. There are things we just flat down don’t like without knowing exactly why. People, too.

Prejudice has always been with us in one form or another. Usually, it is just best kept to oneself and dealt with mentally.

Prejudice is a wonderful word that has been much maligned.

And that could refer to a number of things. Example, I hate vegetables.

I think we all are guilty of this, to some degree. There is nothing wrong with admitting it, and/or recognizing it in yourself; especially when looking at the pure definition:

A preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience.

Self awareness is knowing that about ourselves, and sometimes not liking it. I remember telling my mom when I was a kid “Asparagus may be good, but it’s not good for me.” 6 decades later, I had some grilled asparagus. It was surprisingly tasty.

Of course, we all have prejudices. The problem is when prejudices against a particular group of people cause us to act out against them in negative ways.

“Prejudice” just means “noticing patterns”. Pattern recognition is a very important survival skill.
