What is it with Patty and Violet and all their parties? Did they really want to have friends over and have a good time, or were they thrown for the sole purpose of excluding Charlie Brown?
In my world Patty and Violet considered themselves major characters in Peanuts (or Li’l Folks back then) and demanded more compensation and a bigger role not realizing that eventually Snoopy would take over as the focal point. When things came to a head Schulz brought in the brother/sister team of Lucy and Linus to replace Patty and Violet — as it turns out a good move. Not sure what happened to Shermy however.
