I gave up on matching clothes. Solid on top, pattern on bottom (or vice versa), as long as both are sort of the same color family. Dresses, though, THAT’S where my big money (and time) goes!
Buying a suit when you need different sizes in top and bottom was he!!. One part fit, the other didn’t and had to be altered. The altered part never fit quite right.

Pretty simple. Divide a two-piece item into two separate sales and people will pay an additional 20% markup on them.
