I remember humpbacks (the whale pictured here is not a humpback) in Cape Cod Bay deliberately coming to the whale watch boat (they apparently knew its sound) and doing “tricks” (breaching, waving a fin, etc.). If those on the boat made a lot of noise (e.g., stomping on the deck), the whales would extend the length of their “show”.
