Obviously, without reading Panel 3, it was easy to assume that they were sharing, being squeezed out of the couch by a cat. Why is it was can’t pick up the cat (or dog) and move it to another location?
About time to leave the back door open. From experience, about 5 seconds is enough. 40 years ago our cat slipped out the door while we were welcoming guests for Thanksgiving dinner, and a week later, after the turkey was gone, she returned, all tattered, half starved, and very pregnant!
I love my furry family but they don’t get to push me around. Except when I was dating my wife. Her 185 pound Great Dane would decide that we were sitting too close and push his butt between us until he was sitting on the couch with his front legs on the floor. But after we were married he no longer shared her bed.
We go thru the same in my house. Two big over indulged dogs and three entitled cats make for adventures in seating arrangements on a regular basis. I now have a larger sectional couch that can accommodate ALL of us at the same time. Problem is, we all want to be in the same spot. Together : ).
I never understood why people do this. I love my dogs, but they move when I sit down, they are trained that way. They do not sleep on my bed, only my wife does. They do not chew furniture, knock things over. Training you pet is easy.

Move, Peekaboo! My cats like to lounge on my laptop keyboard. Every morning, it’s a fight.

When I get into bed with two cats, I tell them to move over, big cat coming in.
