In the comics, whenever someone is watching TV, it’s always westerns. Wasn’t there anything else on the tube?
Reminds me of that great Tex Avery cartoon, “TV of Tomorrow”—where there’s a scene of a man reacting in anger and disgust because every station on TV is airing some stupid western. He goes to a movie, where he expects to see a sweet romance—only to be shown that same d@mned western!
Fritzi could have written “NO TV UNTIL YOU’VE DONE YOUR HOMEWORK”. Does she deliberately word things to see how Nancy will find a way round them? If so, she is at least encouraging Nancy to think and act creatively.

It is kind of breezy in the old west today.
