I like meat loaf and will happily consume it if you serve it to me. But don’t hand me a plate of meat loaf and tell me it’s a steak.
The new record is a labor of love for Paul McCartney, who half a century later still fondly remembers and misses being a Beatle, and I can’t fault him for that; and it’s not horrible, but it’s not a Beatles record.
In the “making of” doc, McCartney says they handed out sheet music for the strings that hand nothing on it but the charts/bars/notes. “So no one would know it was a Beatles Song…” Rrriiight… None of those performers went home that day and said, “Hey, guess what! I played on a new Beatles Song today.” If not, after it came out they said to themselves, “I Am A Dum bass. Goo-goo Ka-choo.”

AI messed with John Lennon’s vocals. As long as it doesn’t mess with John Lemon’s drawings!
